Sacramento loves spring. The flowers are blooming, the days are longer and we’re able to go outside to enjoy patios and playgrounds. Lets also remember that April showers bring May flowers, so keep that in mind as we go over the 5 tips for moving in Spring.
While we think Spring is grand, and it is, let us also consider those seasonal allergies and that the CDC says the flu season can continue through the month of March. We can pack and move you and we’re happy to do as much, or as little as needed. Also, since we’re on the weather topic, we sell mattress bags for less than $5, so if it’s raining, it’s a great idea to throw one on the truck when you book your move.
2. Booking your move
Our phones are ringing. People are buying and selling their homes, so they need movers to come out as soon as they close escrow. Consider booking your move and pushing it out as needed, just remember if you need to change the date, you must do this 48 hours in advance. It’s much easier securing a date in advance than it is to call on a Thursday when you need to move on Saturday.
3. Outdoor tools
Our senior Move Consultant Heather reminds us, Spring cleaning includes your outdoor toys. Remember we can move your tools, wheelbarrows and lawn movers, but it is to your benefit to clean them. Grass in your wheelbarrow could spill in the truck, which is another great reason to have your bed in a mattress bag.
We have a program called Movers for Moms that benefits WEAVE. If you have new or used items you would like to donate our marketing coordinator can come and take those items off your hands. However, if you already have a non-profit you love, please go through your dressers, closets, garage and sheds to find the things you can part with before you move. The less you have, the more you save when moving. Think about adopting the minimalist attitude,”By clearing the clutter from life’s path, we can all make room for the most important aspects of life: health, relationships, passion, growth, and contribution.”
5. Time Management
You’re hiring movers because you’re busy. Call us, get a quote or have us come check out your move and then book the move as soon as you can. This way, you can create a timeline. If you want a great tool to keep inventory of your home and the quotes you’re getting consider using HomeZada. This local startup has free templates to list your assets and keep records all in one place in case of a claim.
Spring is a busy time of year, so spend your time on a fabulous patio or a fun playground. We’ll take care of your move. Questions? Call us! 916.852.7411
